About Us

The goal of Saint Anne Catholic School is to provide your student an excellent education rooted in the Catholic faith and Christian values.  Our mission is to develop and nurture the spiritual, physical, intellectual, social, artistic, and emotional growth of each student in the spirit of the Gospels and the teachings of the Catholic Church.  Our aspiration is to empower each student to reach his or her full potential.

Located in the heart of historic Bristol, Virginia, St. Anne Catholic School is Bristol’s only Catholic school and its oldest existing non-public school.  It was founded by Monsignor James J. Hickie in 1949.  We have been so very blessed that after 65 years, we continue to serve as a hallmark of educational excellence.  Imagine the history and stories that our school could tell; and sometimes you can hear and see them when you walk through our halls.  We have many third generation families currently attending our school and for them the choice was clear…..they wanted their children, and their children’s children, to receive the same standard of academics and Christian foundation that they themselves received as a student at St. Anne’s.
We are so very pleased to announce that our beautiful 65 year old building has been completely renovated on the inside.  In addition to modern upgrades, the original first floor is dedicated to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, better known as STEM.  This floor will house a computer lab and our Science & Discovery Center.  This beautiful renovation project was made possible by generous donations from families who understand the value of Catholic education.  We are blessed beyond belief!

St. Anne's is the only private school in the Bristol area accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.  We also hold membership in the Virginia Council on Private Education and the National Catholic Education Association.  Accreditation through SACS/CASI is a difficult and esteemed recognition of which we are quite proud.  St. Anne’s consistently evaluates and evolves its programs to ensure that they not only meet and exceed the strict standards of SACS/CASI, but also the diocesan curriculum standards.  The continuation of high academic standards, combined with the moral and spiritual development of each child, will remain our focus here at St. Anne’s for what we hope will be another great 65 years.  We accomplish this goal through a well-rounded educational program coupled with acts of service, religion, and a family atmosphere that allows us the opportunity to truly know and understand our students and their families on a personal level.  In addition to religion and core subject areas, students participate in art, music, physical education/health, Spanish, and library.
